Praia da Ferrugem is a beach with crystalline waters, white sand and waves that are almost always perfect for surf lovers.
Its restinga area is well preserved, making the landscape even more beautiful.
Sunrise on the beach is a must!
In the north corner, there is Morro da Ferrugem, a lookout from where you can see the entire Ferrugem beach and surfers looking for the best waves. Very close to this hill, there is a bar by the sea, which is also a great place to enjoy the landscape.
In Canto Sul, there is Morro do Índio, which is the largest archaeological site in Garopaba. This Hill is a Sambaqui (a deposit of shells and traces of millenary original peoples) and lithic workshops, which are dark marks on the rocks, where pre-colonial peoples produced their work tools, sharpening and polishing. There is also a fishermen's ranch and small natural pools on site.
In front of Morro do Índio, Lagoa da Ferrugem flows into Lagoa da Ferrugem, with calm and clean waters, usually warm and the color of Rust. The sunset in this place is a spectacle in itself.
And from July to September, Praia da Ferrugem is visited by Right Whales. They come in search of the most appropriate waters for their reproduction and can be seen from the beach itself. A show of nature!
